City Withdraws Application and THANK YOU!

A hugh thank you to all who showed up at the Community Meeting at the USO on Thursday night! We filled the place up! And had a lot to say about this parkland...and why we should keep it. The big news that Council Member Holt broke at the front of the meeting is that the City Housing Dept. has withdrawn its application for land use change and rezoning! For the time being. Land use changes come up periodically. We need to make sure this land comes off the list of surplus land for 'conversion' to other uses.

We asked for CM Holt's support in having this property reassigned to the Recreation Dept. "I hope so" was his commitment. So it's not over yet. We need to have the land assigned to Recreation and we need to continue to PUSH for park development. The City needs to open the land up for community use. We can start to do this by attening the visioning session at the USO on Nov. 8th. Read more on this all day session in the next posting!

Once again, good work! And thanks to all of you who have supported this effort to SAVE R PARK!
