Updates from Donna
Donna, our resident whirlwind, gathers more information than the speed of my internet connection. She's been VERY busy the past week. I'm giving her this space to post her comments and updates on all the latest information she finds. And she'll include action items so that you can get involved if you can't make the community meeting/s. She'll post below in Readers Comments so be sure to take a look if you want the latest and greatest information in our struggle to keep the parkland on Mayport Rd. for parks, recreation and open space...forever.

Latest news is that I spoke with our friends and neighbors at Cypress Cove at their neighborhood meeting Wednesday night. They unanimously agreed to support us in our request to have the LUZ withdrawn. Thanks so much to these wonderful neighbors. A special thanks to our good friends and neighbors, Ben and Kathy Tucker. Ben is a true leader and steward of the community. Cypress Cove will be drafting a letter of support that will be another to accompany the CPAC letter sent to the city.
In our community meeting Saturday we discussed revision of our petition, will do that,established a committee to door knock in Oak Harbor, have some research to compile, will visit with our neighbors in Deerfield Lakes to make them aware of the issue,and finalize the draft letters and contact lists for city officials.
We have been busy.
Karen deserves a big thanks for making the time in her busy schedule to set up this blog site.
She did a wonderful job. Thanks so much.
To all of you who have contributed your time and energy...please keep the faith. We are a voice in our community and we will have a forum to be heard. CPAC coordinator Rosemary is working on getting the USO reserved for a meeting with Honorable Councilman Ray Holt, Wight Greger, Chair of HAND, not sure who will be present from Planning and Zoning or Parks but I am told they will be there as well.
This should occur some time in early October. When I get confirmation from Rosemary with the date, we'll get the word out.
